Dark Chocolate-Covered Matzo with Kosher Salt

This Dark Chocolate-Covered Matzo with Kosher Salt recipe is so tasty that you will want to enjoy it year-round not just at Passover.   

Ingredients

2-3 Sheets
Matzo
3/4 cup
butter
1/4 cup
sugar
6 ozs 
Scharffen Berger 70% Bittersweet Dark Chocolate Baking Bar chopped or 
Scharffen Berger 70% Bittersweet Dark Chocolate Baking Chunks
Kosher Salt (optional)

Directions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400° F 
  2. Cover a large baking sheet with aluminum foil.
  3. Layer the matzo on the baking sheet using as many whole matzo sheets as will fit. You can fill in with smaller pieces
  4. In a small saucepan, melt the butter and the sugar together and bring the mixture to a boil.
  5. Pour the butter mixture over the matzo.
  6. Put the baking sheet in the oven and bake for three minutes. 
  7. Take out of oven and put chocolate pieces over the matzo and let melt. Spread with a wooden spoon as needed.
  8. Put the pan in the freezer overnight or until the chocolate sets.
  9. Take out of freezer, sprinkle with Kosher Salt and break into pieces.
